Driver Turnover Rates Reach All-Time High

A new study shows that in the last part of 2003, the annual truckload turnover rate reached an all-time high of 119%.

This news accompanies widespread industry concern that the new hours-of-service that began on January 4 will force carriers to employ more drivers. Coupled with a growing economy that offers drivers more job options, the trucking industry could be in for a serious shortage of qualified drivers.
